Database Automation Engineer (m/f/d)

Are you passionate about automating database operations and providing seamless self-service solutions? Do you have a knack for scripting and optimizing workflows? We are looking for a talented Database Automation Engineer (m/f/d) to join our international team.

Your Role

You are responsible for automating day-to-day operations within our highly standardized database environment. We deliver databases as a service for PostgreSQL and provide operation tasks as self-service solutions to our internal customers.

Your Responsibilities

 

• Develop and implement scripts and workflows to automate recurring administrative tasks such as: Creating, deleting, and patching databases, Creating and deleting users, Performing database switchovers, Database upgrades etc.
• Develop self-service solutions for internal customers to independently perform database operation tasks.
• Analyze and optimize existing self-service solutions, workflows and scripts to ensure their stability and efficiency.
• Create and maintain documentation for the developed automation solutions and self-service processes.

 

Your Skills and Experiences

 

• Proficient knowledge of JavaScript and/or PowerShell. Have Basic knowledge of databases in general and PostgreSQL in detail. Further knowledge in MySQL and/or MySQL would complete your profile.
• Experienced with Ansible and AWX.
• Desirable tech stack - Terraform, Jenkins, Java, Groovy, Perl, VMWare Orchestrator, GIT etc.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in optimizing automation solutions.
• Self-motivated with the ability to independently solve issues and meet deadlines.
• Ability to cooperate and effectively collaborate within the team, across teams and with global teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good English language skills, both written and verbal.
